Please find attached the class newsletter for Summer term.
On Friday, Year 3 presented their class assembly to the whole school and to all of their parents! They taught us all so much about what they have learned about The Romans last term, and even sang a fantastic song using sign language! Well done Year 3, you were amazing and made Miss Connolly very proud!
Easter Experience – 1/4/19
In R.E, Year 3 have been learning about the Easter story. We have discussed how this is a time of both sadness and joy for Christians. Today we were lucky enough to go over to church for an Easter experience where we took part in lots of different Easter activities!
Mrs Ireland taught us about the events of Palm Sunday. We talked about how the people lay down palm leaves for Jesus and his donkey to walk along, and how they shouted ‘Hosanna!’. We then were lucky enough to make our own palm leaves.
The Servant King
We talked about how Jesus washed the disciples’ feet at the Last Supper and some of us were lucky enough to experience this!
The Last Supper
We then re-enacted the Last Supper and talked about how this was a very special night for Jesus and his disciples. We talked about how Jesus broke the bread and shared it to represent his body given for us. We also discussed how Jesus took the wine and shared it to represent his blood given for us.
The Garden of Gethsemane
We heard about the garden of Gethsemane and we discussed how Jesus might have felt while he was there. We also reflected on times in our lives when we may have felt the same way and hung our drawings on the tree.
Pam talked to us about the day Jesus was crucified. We talked about how Jesus would have felt on this day and shared our own sorrows.
We then learned about the day Jesus rose from the dead. We talked about the tomb and what it would have been like there. We also talked about what a miracle this event was.
Year 3 had a fantastic time in church and learned so much about Holy Week!
