On Wednesday Reception spent the day in Liverpool.
First we went to Liverpool Cathedral, where we followed the trail and found all the animals. This was great fun. We loved the stained glass windows and having a go on the Whispering Arch.
Then we walked to the Philharmonic Hall to listen to the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. We heard a story and listened to the music as it was played along to the story. It was interesting to hear the different instruments and join in with clapping a and dancing to the music.
Our School Council, Eco and Ethos groups are currently working towards completing their Archbishop of York, Young Leaders Award. The children are hoping to develop their skills in leadership and help our school and local community in the process. Today they spent the afternoon clearing the steps up to Wilderspool Causeway in order to make our local environment better. In the next couple of weeks they will be planning exciting sponsored events in order to raise money for a concern close to our heart. Further information on these events are to follow.
What a great time we had this morning! Mr Evans came back into school for a drumming workshop. We shared some great memories and learned a drumming rhythm, it was just like old times. Thanks Mr Evans. Elizabeth Hayman
