Our friend, The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Les Morgan, is no stranger to our school. He has joined us for many occasions: worship, our Autumn Fair; our Harvest Festival, Christmas Nativities, our carol concert and even eating lunch with us in the hall. It has been suggested that we are his favourite school! On Friday, we were joined by the Mayor again, but this time for a Guinness World Record attempt!

The mayor spent Friday visiting as many primary schools as he could possibly fit in and delivered a speech in each that made us really think about community, caring for each other and being a good neighbour. This links in perfectly with our Christian value for this month, which is Respect. We finished our special worship with a very lively hymn, My God is so Big!’  and a special prayer about community, led by our Ethos group.

If successful, Our mayor could be in next year’s Guinness Book of World Records. We wish him every success! Watch out for news of his very hectic day in local media.
