Hello Year 3,

I hope you have had a lovely week! In case you didn’t know, there is a video on your new class page to introduce you to your teachers for next year! Take a look at the Year 4 page and watch a little message from your teachers there. Who do you think they will be?!

Here are your Year 3 home learning tasks for this week;-

1.Daily Maths and English on BBC Bitesize

These lessons are recommended by the government and are set at Year 3 level. Make sure you are doing the Year 3 tasks and not the other year groups! I know some of you have made this mistake before!

2.TT Rockstars

Practice your times tables at least 3 times each week. By the end of Year 3 (which isn’t far away now!) you need to know your 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables off by heart so that you are ready for Year 4.

3. MyMaths

This week I have set you some revision work on our multiplication and division work. Please log in and complete the tasks I have set on there.

4. Spelling Shed

You all have new spellings set for this week.

I’ve set some new tests for you to complete. Please check for the new tests.

6. Reading on Purple Mash’s Serial Mash

This week I’d like you to continue reading the book I have set for you called ‘The Switcher’.

-Read Chapters 4 and 5 and answer the multiple choice questions for the end of each chapter.

7. Pobble 365

I am letting you choose any Pobble activity you want again this week. Have a look through the calendar and find one you like. Complete the usual sections (Story Starter, Question Time and Perfect Picture) for your chosen image. I know some of you have been really enjoying this task and have been sending me your brilliant work on Purple Mash!

8. P.E with Joe Wicks

Joe isn’t doing this everyday now sadly as he needs a bit of a break, but you can watch his older videos and re-do some of them!

There are also some really good videos on YouTube for children’s Zumba! We have been doing some of these with the children currently in school. Have a go, they’re good fun and good exercise.

9. R.E

Daily prayer from the Church of England

Last week, we started to learn about Buddhism and particularly their religious leader The Buddha. This week, I’d like you to learn about some of the Buddhist symbols. Have a look at the information PowerPoint here and try one of the tasks at the end of the presentation!

We are going to be carrying on with our learning about Light and Shadows this week! Look through the PowerPoint below all about reflective surfaces and complete the activities along the way.
