Hello Year 3,
I hope you managed to safely enjoy the lovely weather we had last week! Here are your home learning tasks for this week;
1.Daily Maths and English on BBC Bitesize
These lessons are recommended by the government and are set at Year 3 level. Make sure you are doing the Year 3 tasks and not the other year groups! I know some of you have made this mistake before!
Practice your times tables at least 3 times each week. By the end of Year 3 (which isn’t far away now!) you need to know your 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables off by heart so that you are ready for Year 4.
This week I have set you more work on measures. The tasks are looking at mass, capacity and length.
- Units of Measure
- Measuring Lengths
- Comparing Measures
4. Spelling Shed
You all have new spellings set for this week.
I’ve set some new tests for you to complete. Please check www.spag.com for the new tests.
6. Reading on Purple Mash’s Serial Mash
This week I’d like you to finish off the book ‘Animal Boy’.
-Read Chapters 4, 5, 6 and 7 and answer the multiple choice quiz for each chapter.
7. Pobble 365
I am letting you choose any Pobble activity you want again this week. Have a look through the calendar and find one you like. Complete the usual sections (Story Starter, Question Time and Perfect Picture) for your chosen image. I know some of you have been really enjoying this task and have been sending me your brilliant work on Purple Mash!
8. P.E with Joe Wicks
Joe isn’t doing this everyday now sadly as he needs a bit of a break, but you can watch his older videos and re-do some of them!
Daily prayer from the Church of England
Last week, we started looking at the religion of Islam and we thought about how Islam is similar and different to Christianity.
This week, I’d like you to look at the special places of worship in Islam. Look at the information in the presentation below and complete one of the following activities;
- Design and draw the inside of a mosque based on what we have learned in this information PowerPoint.
- Make a 3D version of the inside of the mosque. Maybe use a shoe box and add in the different features!
This half term, we would be learning about Light and Shadows in school. One part of our learning is about sun safety, which is particularly important at the moment as we have been having lots of hot sunny weather!
I’d like you to read through the information about how to stay safe in the sun and design your own pair of sunglasses! You need to think about what your sunglasses need to protect your eyes from the sun and label your drawings.
Take care everyone,
