Hello Year 6,

I hope you have all had a good weekend and you and your families are safe and well. It must be strange to not be in school for such a long time. I’m missing you all!

I haven’t forgotten that we should be in Spain this week 😉

I know it’s not the same as actually being there, but perhaps you could recreate a little part of Spanish culture at home. You could research the city of Malaga, cook a Spanish dish or create art inspired by a Spanish artist such as Picasso. Let me know what you decide. You could add a comment about it on ‘Our Summer 2020 Blog by Y6’ on Purple Mash. It’s a great way to share some of the things you’ve been up to during lockdown.  Instructions have been sent to you by email.

Transition

If you are going to Sir Thomas Boteler in September, visit http://www.boteler.org.uk/transition/ for updates about transition.

Your home learning tasks, for week beginning May 18th, are all on this post.  Please remember to send me some of your fantastic work.

Have a good week.

Learn how to use hyperbole, similes and metaphors in your writing on BBC Bitesize https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zhcc92p.

RE

Our Christian Value, just now, is ‘Compassion’.  Can you create a Wordle at https://wordart.com to illustrate what ‘compassion’ means to you?

Geography

‘The Americas’

Thank you for sending me your work on this so far.  If you haven’t already, choose a country in America (from the list below or your own choice).  Research the country in detail then decide how you’re going to present your research – for example, an information leaflet, a poster, a PowerPoint presentation.

Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile

The website ‘World Geography Games’ https://world-geography-games.com is a great place to learn where countries are located.

Science

Please take a look at a BBC Bitesize science lesson about the ‘Adaptation’. It includes videos and interactive tasks.
