In our worship yesterday, we explored the meaning of Christingle. To begin with, our Ethos group members were given the challenge of assembling their Christingle orange whilst we read the account of Christ’s birth in the gospel of Luke. They were under considerable pressure whilst the whole school looked on. At the end of the reading, we judged the Christingles, which were all very good – take a look at their finished oranges below.

We enjoyed our worship very much and left knowing a lot more about the meaning of the Christingle and the true meaning of Christmas. On Sunday evening, St James Church is celebrating a Christingle service and we’d like to invite all of our families and friends. It’s a wonderful service, very family focussed and filled with joy and wonder. Towards the end of the service, the lights are turned down and candles lit. Together we sing by candlelight. It’s magical. Each of the children receives their own Christingle orange to take home too.  The service is at 5pm and everyone  is very warmly welcomed.
