Hello Year 3,
It was lovely to speak to some of you and your families this week! Here are your home learning tasks for this week;
1.Daily Maths and English on BBC Bitesize
These lessons are recommended by the government and are set at Year 3 level. Make sure you are doing the Year 3 tasks and not the other year groups!
Practice your times tables at least 3 times each week. By the end of Year 3 (which isn’t far away now!) you need to know your 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables off by heart so that you are ready for Year 4!
This week I have set you revision work on measures. The tasks are looking at mass, capacity and length and the learning you have already done on these when you were in Key Stage 1. This will be good to revise for when I set new Year 3 tasks on measurement next week.
4. Spelling Shed
You all have new spellings set for this week.
I’ve set some new tests for you to complete;
-Noun phrases and compound nouns
6. Reading on Purple Mash’s Serial Mash
I have set a new book for you this week called ‘Animal Boy’!
-Read Chapters 1, 2 and 3 and answer the multiple choice quiz for each chapter.
7. Pobble 365
I am letting you choose any pobble activity you want again this week. Have a look through the calendar and find one you like. Complete the usual sections (Story Starter, Question Time and Perfect Picture) for your chosen image. I know some of you have been really enjoying this task and have been sending me your brilliant work on Purple Mash!
8. P.E with Joe Wicks
Joe isn’t doing this everyday now sadly as he needs a bit of a break, but you can watch his older videos and re-do some of them!
Daily prayer from the Church of England
This week, our R.E work is a little bit different as we are going to be looking at another religion called Islam. Firstly, I’d like you to think about what our God is like and write down some names we have for God and describe what you think He is like.
Watch the videos about Islam on BBC Bitesize;
After watching this video, I’d like you to write what you have learned about Islam and think about how it might be similar or different to Christianity in your home learning book.
Take care everyone,
