Hello Year 6,
I hope you all enjoyed the VE Day celebrations on Friday.
So, as this should have been SATs week 😉 I just wanted to take a moment to say, I’m very proud of you all. I know how hard you have worked this year and what amazing progress you have made. SATs would tell us a little something, but not everything… there is no way to test all of the amazing and awesome things that make you, YOU! So be proud of yourself. Enjoy being with your families and stay safe.
To help you prepare for Year 7, your home learning tasks, for week beginning May 11th, are all on this post. Remember to send me some of your fantastic work. I’ve also started a Blog on Purple Mash called ‘Our Summer 2020 Blog by Y6’. It’s a great way to share some of the things we’ve been up to during lockdown. I have sent you instructions, to help you contribute, by email.
Parents/carers, if your child is going to Sir Thomas Boteler in September, and you haven’t already, can you send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so they can contact you about transition arrangements.
Have a good week.

Art lessons from the Oak National Academy… The first one is about using different textures that you can find at home and the second lesson is about using visual textures to add interest. There is a detailed video for each lesson.
If you haven’t already, please have a go and send photos of your completed work to me for our Facebook page.
Think about what the word ‘trust’ means to you then explore the following questions and watch this BBC clip: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/
What were the friends doing before they met Jesus? What do you think the disciples did the next day? How did they come to trust him as a friend? Why do you think Jesus chose fishermen?
Choose a country in America (from the list below or your own choice). Research the country in detail then decide how you’re going to present your research – for example, an information leaflet, a poster, a PowerPoint presentation.
Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Chile
The website ‘World Geography Games’ https://world-geography-games.com is a great place to learn where countries are located.
By way of revision, please take a look at a BBC Bitesize science lesson about the ‘How Plants Reproduce’. It includes videos and interactive tasks.
